The program

What is 2x2?

2x2 is a daily discipleship program for men. Every day delivers three prompts through the TrainHeroic app — one for the mind, one for the body, one for the soul — inside a community that tracks the same work, with message boards and workout logging for accountability.

How is 2x2 different from other workout or devotional apps?

Three ways. It doesn’t end — 2x2 is a subscription that delivers fresh workouts, curated content, and formation exercises every day. It’s one place for the whole man, rather than separate apps for fitness, reading, and devotion. And progress doesn’t depend on perfection — the program is built for men who miss days and keep going.

What does training the whole person — mind, body, and soul — actually mean?

The same principles a good strength program applies to the body — intentional, balanced, progressive — applied to all three dimensions. A well-designed program doesn’t train only what you like; it checks every box. 2x2 does that for the mind and soul as well as the body.

Who is 2x2 for?

Primarily men ages 18–35 who want to grow in fitness, faith, and mental strength. Men outside that range are welcome — the work scales.

How is the Mind portion different from just reading articles online?

It’s a system, not a feed. Mind prompts rotate through six modes — silence, reading, speaking, listening, writing, and lived experience — on a monthly rotation, so thought and character are trained from every angle instead of one.

Training

Is the program beginner-friendly?

Yes. 2x2 is structured so a beginner can step in and get started. Workouts are autoregulated — you scale the load up or down to meet the day.

Do I need to be in shape already to start?

No. Start where you are. If you have a medical condition or physical limitation, get cleared by a physician first.

Can I do the workouts at home?

Most of the time, yes. A solid home setup covers much of the programming, though some workouts are better with full gym access. If home is what you have, you can train — you’ll just adapt here and there.

Do I need special equipment?

Nothing exotic. A barbell, dumbbells, and resistance bands handle most days, and some workouts use equipment you’d find in a gym. Work with what you have and scale accordingly.

What if I miss a day?

You catch up. Every week has built-in catch-up space, and content stays on your calendar so you can look back and pick up what you missed. Progress doesn’t depend on perfection.

Faith

Is the program more about fitness or faith?

Both, held together. Every day includes all three prompts. How much weight each carries on a given day is fluid — the program bends to your season without dropping any pillar.

Do I need to be a Christian to benefit from 2x2?

You don’t need to be a Christian to benefit from the mind and body training. But the community is unapologetically Christian, and the language, encouragement, and Soul content reflect that.

Practical

Can I join at any time?

Yes. The program has no start date and no finish line. Content is fresh daily, and you begin the day you join.

How much time does each day's content take?

Workouts run 30–60 minutes. Mind and Soul content usually takes 15–45 minutes.

Can women use 2x2?

The program is currently designed for men. A 2x2 Women program is something we hope to build in the future.

Is there a community aspect?

Yes — message boards, posted workout results, and leaderboards inside the app. Local and regional groups are planned.

Can I invite a friend or accountability partner?

Yes, and you should. The work holds better when another man is doing it beside you.
